Gibson SG Traditional 2014 - limited run. With Gibson brown case UK buyers only please. Cash on collection Willing to deliver free of charge within up to 50 miles away from Gloucester. Please see postcode below. Up for sale here is a beautiful and stunning example of a Gibson SG Traditional (made in Feb 2014) at the Gibson Nashville plant, TN. See headstock rear photo for serial number. Technical spec: Body - Mahogany Neck - Mahogany, with 50s spec profile Fingerboard - Undercut fret over binding bound rosewood with trapezoid inlays Hardware - Chrome Tune-o-matic Electronics - Classic 57 Humbuckers, CTS pots Pick guard - Traditional full pickguard. Case - Vintage brown hard shell case This guitar has been played only a few times and has always been handled with great care; kept in its case when not in use and has never been gigged. There are no discernible marks, dents, scratches or defects of any kind. It's pretty much in mint condition. No modifications, upgrades etc have ever been made and is as it was when it left the factory. I think it's a particularly stunning example of an SG in Heritage Cherry finish, with beautiful wood grain beneath the superb lacquer finish. One of the nicest finishes I've seen on an SG. So, what exactly is an SG Traditional? Essentially this is a Gibson SG Standard model to all outward appearances, but the real guts of the beast are the Classic '57 Humbuckers that really produce an incredibly versatile richness of sound possibilities, from mellow and creamy to snarling, ballsy, bluesy sound and with fantastic sustain for those soaring lead solos! The Classic 57s really knock the socks off the 490R / 498T pickups that Gibson installed on their SG Standard models for many years. The action on this guitar is amazingly low and no buzzing anywhere on the neck. It's been set up perfectly and has a new set of 9 gauge Ernie Ball slinky strings. The neck is extremely smooth and comfortable. Well, 2014 saw the launch of many new Gibson models featuring the auto-tuning technology of the headstock mounted min-E-tune and later G-force systems. This guitar doesn't feature that system, nor does it have coil splitting, even though one retailer incorrectly credited the model with that feature in their sale spec. This model is already no longer available to buy new from any dealership in the UK since it's one of a limited run that Gibson introduced in early 2014. At the time of its release in UK stores it had a RRP of £1,199 and was also available through various online dealers for £999 plus postage. I don't know how many of these guitars were produced but I feel certain that it will amaze and impress any Gibson SG fan, especially those who feel no need of the recently introduced robotic tuning systems on the latest Standard models. With the limited production run on this specific model it looks highly likely that a Gibson SG Traditional will become highly sought after and only therefore gain in value if well looked after. I would much prefer a cash on collection sale for this guitar as I really don't like the thought of damage in transit. I would be willing to bring the guitar to the buyer if within reasonable distance, or meet at a suitable half way point. I have an Amplug amp which goes into the output jack that can be used so as to check that everything works, if meeting up somewhere like a motorway services or rail station etc. My postcode is GL1 1LH, if you want to find your exact distance from me. Any questions, please ask. I am open to any sensible and realistic offer on this Guitar. Mobile . Simon
